    John “Westley” Steele, Jr., a native of Richmond, Virginia, is a classical concert pianist, composer and producer.

    Westley began studying piano with Mary Elizabeth Woolfolk at the age of five and performed in his first piano recital at the age of five and a half. Beginning in middle school and throughout high school, he continued his classical piano study with Christine Watson at the Virginia Commonwealth University Community School of Performing Arts. He has since appeared in numerous recitals.

    Westley graduated magna cum laude from Howard University in 2007 with a

    Bachelor of Music, with an emphasis in music business and a minor in piano performance. At Howard, Westley received a scholarship to study music under Professors Raymond T. Jackson and James Weldon Norris. He was an accompanist for the Howard University Music Department and also played tuba in the Howard University “Showtime Marching Band” and concert band. He received a Master of Science degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.

    An accomplished musician, he claims as one of the highlights of his career his being selected as guest performer at the Howard University President’s Concert in the Spring 2004 while a freshman at Howard.

    In 2010, Westley began studying organ with Benjamin Lane at The Cathedral Church of Saint Luke in Orlando, Florida. While in Richmond, Westley held the position of Minister of Music and Organist at All Souls Presbyterian Church, and Choir Director at Franklin Military Academy. Westley also continued his organ study with Suzanne Riehl of First Presbyterian Church of Richmond, Virginia.

    A newcomer to Los Angeles, you may catch Westley not only teaching at The Music Junction, but also in various recording studios in the area, working as an assistant to film composer Nathan Lanier.
